Migration and the Contemporary Mediterranean: Shifting Cultures in Twenty-First-Century Italy and Beyond, edited by Claudia Gualtieri, will be launched on Friday 25 January at The Oxford Research Centre in the Humanities (TORCH).
Migration and the Contemporary Mediterranean: Shifting Cultures in Twenty-First Century Italy and Beyond is a new publication in the TORCH Race and Resistance Programme‘s book series, Race and Resistance Across Borders in the Long Twentieth Century, published by Peter Lang.
Join us for the launch, where the volume’s editor, Claudia Gualtieri (University of Milan) will be in conversation with Elleke Boehmer (Professor of World Literature in English at the University of Oxford, and series editor) and with Maeve Moynihan and Lena Hart (both MSt students in Migration Studies at Oxford).
Both the scholarship and the creative work in this timely and eclectic collection shed new light on the current migration situation across the Mediterranean region. At this event we will also be celebrating the Race and Resistance book series as a whole, which has published five volumes in its first two years. All books in the series will be available for purchase or order, and a sandwich lunch will be provided.
The event begins at 12.15 in the third floor seminar room in the Radcliffe Humanities building. All are welcome and no registration is required; places and lunch are on a first-come first-served basis.
