An experienced commissioning editor, with knowledge and awareness of academic publishing in the humanities and social sciences is sought for a maternity cover contract of up to 12 months. We are a publisher of monographs and collected editions in both well-established book series, and stand-alone texts in both print and e-formats. The ideal candidate will ideally have a strong connection with modern languages, and in particular a working knowledge of any of the following languages: French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese would be advantageous. The position is offered on a flexible 3-day per week basis (60%) and can be based either partly or wholly in our lovely offices in central Oxford, or from a home base with occasional visits to the office and field duties, as appropriate.
